You have placed your order. The confirmation came through on WhatsApp. Now what? For first-time buyers, this is often the anxious part — you have paid for premium farm-fresh mangoes and you want to know they are being handled with the same care as the website promises. Here is the complete, honest walkthrough of what happens between your order and your first bite.
💡 Short version: Order → orchard harvest within 24–48 hours → de-sapping → grading → natural ripening room (1–2 days) → packing → TCS handoff → 1–3 day delivery → doorstep. Total: 3–5 days from order to eating.
Step 1: Order Confirmation (Immediate)
Within 2 hours of your order (usually much faster during business hours), you receive a WhatsApp message from our team confirming:
- Variety and box size
- Delivery address
- Expected dispatch date
- Payment confirmation
If you ordered outside business hours (after 10 PM), confirmation arrives the next morning. We do not use automated bots — a real team member confirms every order.
Step 2: Orchard Harvest (24–48 Hours After Order)
Your order triggers a harvest instruction to our orchard team. We do not maintain a warehouse of pre-picked mangoes waiting for orders. Every box is harvested fresh after the order is confirmed.
✅ Why this matters: A mango that sits in a warehouse for 5 days before shipping has had 5 days of quality degradation before it even starts traveling to you. Ours starts traveling within 48 hours of leaving the tree.
Our harvest team picks only mangoes that meet our Brix (sugar) threshold — 16+ for early-season varieties, 18+ for Sindhri and Chaunsa. Any mango below threshold stays on the tree another 3–7 days. This is why we cannot always dispatch on the exact day you request — we will not pick early.
Step 3: De-Sapping (2–4 Hours Post-Harvest)
Every mango is immediately placed stem-down in de-sapping racks at the farm. Mango sap (from the cut stem) is caustic — it causes skin burns and black spots on the fruit if not drained. Most market suppliers skip this step.
De-sapping takes 2–4 hours. We do not rush it.
⚠️ What happens without de-sapping: You receive mangoes with black sap burns on the skin that look like damage. Underneath, the flesh is fine — but the presentation suffers and the burns can deepen with heat. We eliminate this entirely.
Step 4: Washing & Inspection
Each mango is hand-washed and individually inspected for:
- Skin damage or bruising
- Size uniformity for the grade
- Brix verification (random sample Brix readings from each batch)
- Carbide presence (we use a litmus test on a random sample — carbide-treated mangoes show a specific pH reaction)
Rejected mangoes go to our local processing unit for pulp. They never go into an order box.
Step 5: Natural Ripening Room (1–2 Days)
If mangoes arrive from the orchard at 85–90% ripeness (the ideal harvest stage for transport), they enter our temperature-controlled ripening room at 28–30°C. The room uses no chemicals — only controlled temperature and ethylene gas naturally released by the fruit itself.
💡 Why this matters: A mango that arrives at your door at 85% ripeness will peak 1–2 days after delivery. This is intentional — it gives you a buffer between delivery and eating, rather than receiving an over-ripe mango that needs to be eaten the same day.
Step 6: Individual Packing
Each mango is wrapped in foam netting and placed in a layer. Layers are separated by corrugated dividers. The box is sealed with printed tape.
Box specifications:
- 5 kg: Double-wall corrugated, 30cm × 30cm × 15cm
- 10 kg: Double-wall corrugated, 40cm × 35cm × 20cm
- Maximum 2 layers, foam-netted mangoes
- No ice or gel packs needed for 1–3 day delivery (we calibrate ripeness to match transit time)
Step 7: TCS Handoff (Dispatch Day)
Boxes hand off to TCS (Tranzum Courier Services) at our nearest TCS hub. You receive:
- TCS tracking number via WhatsApp
- Estimated delivery date
- Dispatch photo of your sealed box
📊 TCS delivery timelines from Multan: | City | Transit Time | |---|---| | Lahore | Next day | | Islamabad/Rawalpindi | 1–2 days | | Karachi | 1–2 days | | Peshawar | 2 days | | Quetta | 2–3 days | | Remote cities | 2–3 days |
Step 8: Delivery Day
TCS delivers to your door. No signature required for most addresses. If nobody is home, TCS leaves the box with a neighbor or attempts redelivery.
When your box arrives:
- Open immediately — do not leave in direct sunlight
- Check each mango
- If any damage visible, photograph and WhatsApp us within 12 hours
- Store at room temperature for 1–2 days to reach full ripeness, then refrigerate to slow further ripening
What If Something Goes Wrong?
⚠️ Damaged delivery policy: If mangoes arrive damaged due to transit (not normal ripening), photograph every affected mango and WhatsApp us within 12 hours of delivery. We replace damaged mangoes in your next order or provide a credit — your choice.
Our damage rate is under 2% — extremely low for fresh tropical fruit. The premium double-wall corrugated packaging and foam netting is specifically engineered to handle 2–3 days of courier transit.
Common scenarios and what we do:
| Situation | Our Response |
|---|---|
| 1–2 mangoes damaged | Credit or replacement in next order |
| Significant portion damaged | Full replacement box dispatched |
| All mangoes damaged | Full refund or replacement, no questions |
| Mangoes arrived over-ripe | We review harvest/dispatch records and improve |
| Wrong variety sent | Correct variety sent immediately |
FAQ
How quickly after ordering should I expect my mangoes?
3–5 days from order confirmation to delivery, depending on your city. Lahore and Islamabad are typically 3 days. Karachi 3–4 days. Quetta and Peshawar 4–5 days.
Can I choose my delivery date?
You can request a target date and we will try to match it. We cannot guarantee exact dates as harvest timing and courier schedules interact. We will tell you honestly if your requested date is not achievable.
How do I know my mangoes are real and carbide-free?
Every batch includes a WhatsApp dispatch photo showing the mangoes in their boxes. We also conduct Brix readings on each batch — and can share the reading for your specific order on request. Our carbide testing uses litmus paper on a random sample.
What if I am not home when the mangoes arrive?
TCS will attempt delivery. If nobody is available, they may leave with a neighbor (with your permission) or attempt redelivery the next day. You can instruct TCS via your tracking number to deliver to an alternate address or leave at the gate.
Can I track my order?
Yes — you receive a TCS tracking number via WhatsApp on dispatch day. Track at tcs.com.pk with your tracking number.
Do you deliver to apartments and gated communities?
Yes. For gated communities, provide your apartment/unit number and the security gate contact. Most gated communities in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad have TCS-familiar security protocols.
