About Sindhri
Sindhri is widely regarded as the sweetest mango variety in Pakistan, named after the town of Sindhri in Sindh province where it was first cultivated. This magnificent mango is known for its large size, elongated shape, and stunning golden-yellow skin when ripe. The flesh is incredibly sweet with virtually no fiber, melting on your tongue like butter. Sindhri mangoes are the pride of Pakistan's mango exports, consistently ranking among the top exported varieties due to their exceptional sweetness and visual appeal. Each Sindhri mango is a golden treasure of flavor — once you taste a perfectly ripe Sindhri, you'll understand why it's called the 'King of Mangoes' in many Pakistani households.

Did You Know?
Sindhri mangoes can weigh up to 500 grams each — that's nearly half a kilogram of pure sweetness in a single mango!
Storage Tips for Sindhri
Room Temperature
Keep unripe Sindhri mangoes at room temperature (25-30 C) until fully ripe. Do not refrigerate unripe mangoes as cold stops the ripening process.
Refrigerated
Once ripe, store at 12-15°C for extended freshness. Ripe Sindhri mangoes last 4-6 days at room temperature.
Ripeness Check
Gently press the mango — a ripe one gives slightly. You should also notice a sweet aroma near the stem when it is ready to eat.
Pro Tip
Wrap individual mangoes in newspaper and keep in a ventilated area for even, natural ripening. Avoid sealed plastic bags.
Where Sindhri Mango Is Grown
Sindhri cultivation is concentrated in a handful of regions across Pakistan, each producing fruit with slightly different characteristics.
Mirpur Khas, Sindh
The original home of Sindhri. Mirpur Khas district has been cultivating this variety since the early 20th century and hosts the famous annual Mirpur Khas Mango Festival each June. The sandy-loam soil and intense Sindh summer heat — regularly above 45°C — produce the signature high-sugar, fiberless flesh.
Tando Allahyar & Sanghar
These neighbouring Sindh districts together account for a large share of commercial Sindhri output. Orchards here supply most of Pakistan's Sindhri exports to the UK, UAE, Canada and the United States during the June–August window.
Multan, Punjab
MMA Farms grows Sindhri across selected blocks in our Multan orchards. Punjab-grown Sindhri ripens a few days later than Sindh-grown fruit, with a slightly firmer texture that travels well — making it ideal for nationwide and international shipping.
The History of Sindhri Mango
Sindhri takes its name from the small town of Sindhri in Mirpur Khas district, Sindh, where the variety was first selected and propagated in the early 1900s. Cultivation expanded rapidly through Sindh in the 1940s–60s, and by the 1990s Sindhri had become Pakistan's single most-exported mango variety. Today it remains the country's flagship export, shipped each summer to over 40 countries. In 2010, the Government of Pakistan registered Sindhri as a Geographical Indication (GI) product — placing it in the same category as Champagne or Darjeeling tea, where the name is legally tied to its region of origin.
How to Identify a Real Sindhri
Pakistani markets sometimes mis-label varieties. Here is how to be sure you are buying genuine Sindhri.
Shape
Elongated, oblong shape with a slight curve and pointed beak at the bottom. Larger and longer than most Pakistani varieties.
Size & weight
Each fruit weighs 350–500g. A real Sindhri feels substantial in the hand — anything under 300g is more likely a smaller variety being mis-sold.
Skin colour when ripe
Uniform golden-yellow skin with no green patches. Sindhri does NOT stay green when ripe (unlike Langra). If a vendor shows you a green mango and says it's a ripe Sindhri, walk away.
Flesh
Deep golden-yellow, almost no fibre, and visibly juicy when sliced. The seed is flat and thin relative to fruit size — most of the weight is edible flesh.
Aroma
Rich, sweet tropical fragrance at the stem end when ripe. A Sindhri with no smell is either unripe or has been artificially ripened with carbide (which suppresses natural aroma).
Sindhri vs Other Mango Varieties
Choosing between Pakistani mango varieties is largely about texture, aroma, and season. Here is how Sindhri compares.
Sindhri vs Chaunsa
Sindhri is the early-season sweetheart (June–July); Chaunsa is the mid-to-late peak (July–August). Sindhri is larger, more elongated, and pure honey-sweet with no sourness. Chaunsa is rounder, has a more complex floral-sweet flavour, and a slightly thicker, custard-like flesh. Most exporters ship Sindhri first because it ripens first and travels well.

Alphonso (Indian) and Sindhri (Pakistani) are both premium export varieties. Sindhri is noticeably larger (350–500g vs Alphonso's 150–250g), sweeter on the Brix scale, and almost completely fibreless. Alphonso has a richer saffron-orange flesh and a more aromatic, slightly tangy profile. Price per kilo, Sindhri is typically 30–40% cheaper.

These are two completely different mango experiences. Sindhri is large (350–500g), pure-sweet, and great for eating in slices. Anwar Ratol is small (150–250g), intensely aromatic, and meant to be squeezed and sucked from the top. Anwar Ratol commands a premium price per kilo because each tree yields less fruit and the season is shorter.

Sindhri pricing in Pakistan moves with three factors: harvest stage, grade, and box size. Early-season fruit (mid-to-late June) typically retails at PKR 500–650 per kg as supply ramps up. Peak-season July fruit settles at PKR 380–500 per kg for top grade. Late-season fruit (August) can drop to PKR 300–400 per kg as the variety begins to overlap with Chaunsa. MMA Farms 5kg gift boxes are priced for the full season at a flat rate — see the pricing block above for current 2026 season prices. Wholesale rates for orders above 100kg are available on request via WhatsApp.
